Each floor will span 35,000 feet and will have bright light and expansive views from each of the workspaces. The building鈥檚 poured concrete foundation and steel frame concrete deck will be juxtaposed by a glass entrance accented by a natural wood ceiling, along with custom lighting. Finally, the building will include five levels of parking, two above grade and three below, as well as a mechanical penthouse and roof deck.鈥

The 83,000 square foot, three-story wood framed building will include 61 assisted living units and 26 memory care units, with a mix of studio, one, and two-bedroom inventory. The Northbridge Companies, in partnership with Heather Cairns, Michael Lafayette and Philip Helmes, a local development team, is developing the building with EGA serving as the architect. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 9, 2021.

The development will occupy a 43,500 square foot parcel of land that sits on the border of City of Boston and the Town of Brookline. The property is in Boston鈥檚 Brighton neighborhood, and is two city blocks away from Boston鈥檚 Green Line rapid transit system and next to a Whole Foods Market. Quickly becoming a live-work-play destination, Brighton and the Washington Square neighborhood are now home to numerous local restaurants and lifestyle amenities.
Three separate structures were demolished on the site, a gas station, an auto repair shop, and office space and the new 131,500 square foot, five-story building with a basement will be constructed in their place.
This mixed-use building will host apartment and retail parking totaling 127 spaces, approximately 12,500 square feet of retail on the ground floor, and 108 residential apartments on floors two through five with 18 units being designated for affordable housing.
